After reading through all the entries for my Twitter Pitch contest, I knew that Suzie had a hard task on her hands to pick just one winner out of the almost 100 spectacular entries.
You all should be very proud of yourselves. Now that you've completed the contest, you know how hard it is to hone your book down into one, 140 character pitch. And even if you didn't win, you're all winners because you now have a one-line summary of your book! Congratulations to everyone for completing such a daunting task!
Without further ado - our GRAND PRIZE WINNER is:
ANGELA KULIG with her YA Paranormal Romance SKELETON LAKE
Here's the winning pitch: Skeletons do regret. Drowning was the easy part. The beautiful but ghastly bones of broken boys & false flesh are now Marlow's whole world.
Suzie said that even in 140 characters or less, she was super impressed with the writing.
Congratulations Angela - I will be emailing you shortly with instructions on how to send your full ms to Suzie.
Now - on to the other news.
Suzie was super impressed with all of the entries, and so she has selected some 'honorable mentions' and invites them to query her directly. Be sure to mention that you were an honorable mention in my contest in your query! Please follow her submission guidelines when you query her, which can be found here.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Caitlin Darell with her YA Historical ROBYN HOOD
Disguised as a man, Robyn seeks revenge on the Sheriff of Nottingham for her father's death with help from her fiery partner in crime, John.
AmmariSky with her Paranormal EPITAPHS FROM THE AFTERLIFE
Everything in Elijah Dirk’s life was falling into place in the summer of 1928, until he died. Too bad his afterlife is such a mess.
Bohemienne with her Dark Fantasy UNDER A DEAD MOON
A cocky young sorceress turns to to the same forbidden magic that threatens her kingdom in a dangerous attempt to save it.
Heather McCorkle with her YA Historical Fantasy TO RIDE A PUCA
During the twelfth century invasion of Ireland, Emily, last of the druids, must master her power to keep her kind from being annihilated.
WriterJes with their YA Fantasy/Romance ALL'S FAIR
Fawn must wed to protect her kingdom. An enemy prince offers peace, but she'd rather kill him and face war than live w/o the man she loves.
Bethany Morrow with her YA Literary Sci-fi THE LAST LIFE OF AVRILIS
Avrilis can save a young man's life but with changes threatening the sacred time-loop, she'll be making them both fugitives on two planets.
Congratulations to the winner, honorable mentions and everyone who participated in the contest. Thank you so much for making my first epic contest such an amazing success!
And for those of you who didn't win - check out Suzie's blog! She and Joana are running a first-pages workshop - go check it out! http://confessionsofawanderingheart.blogspot.com/2011/04/first-page-shooter.html It's a great opportunity to get some feedback from one of your favorite agents!

Thanks SOOOOO much! I would LOVE to see WAIT FOR ME in pictoral form. And Vania's style is PERFECT for the feel of my book.
Thanks so much!
Shelley
UPDATE - I didn't win (lost by 20 votes) but that's okay! I'm honored to have made it to the top two, and to lose by such a small margin against a multi-pubbed author with a large fan base. It really says a lot about how amazing my followers are. I love you all! Thank you for voting for me!

1. Can I enter more than once (with different manuscripts)? Please only pitch one manuscript in this contest. Suzies wants/tastes are on the previous post.
2. Can we use numbers (4 instead of four) or symbols (& instead of and)? Yes - it's a twitter pitch. You've only got 140 characters. Use them wisely.
