Happiness is Staring at a Finished Draft

If you haven't already heard the news....

BURN ME IS DONE!!!

Yep, that baby's done! Well, the first draft anyway. I'm letting it marinate for a while before I dive into revisions. But in the mean time, my muse came back with a vengeance, giving me the entire plot outline for a brand spanking new YA paranormal/horror/thriller (I am not really sure what genre it fits into.)

I can't tell you the title, nor anything about it, because it's a really original (and dark and edgy) idea that I want to keep a surprise. But I'll just say that it's so creepy that I'm creeping myself out while writing it! I had to turn on every light in the house on my way to bed last night, I was that creeped out. Which is totally awesome!

I'm still reveling in the bliss of having yet another novel finished (well, almost. Revisions are a whole 'nother ball of wax.) I'm so lucky to get to do what I love. And I'm completely amazed that these entire stories came out of my brain. Who knew I had a whole world (or worlds) in my head? Well, my husband has often accused me of 'living in my own little world', but really, is that such a bad place to live?

The Muse Has Returned!

Sorry for the extended absence from the blog lately, friends! My muse has been on a bit of a writing strike for the last month or two. But, after an extended vacation, my muse has finally returned! I broke out BURN ME and am working on finishing that baby up, and also completely outlined my next YA project. It's a young adult ghost story. I think I needed this break to refresh my creative juices. I was burned out and my writing was forced. It was obvious in the scenes that I wrote (and subsequently deleted) that I needed a break.

But now I'm back and going strong. I plan to bump up posting on my blog, and will soon be setting up a new agent-judged contest.

I've missed you guys (and my muse - she's got a really great tan from her vacation.)
